Fourteen years inside the world's leading financial institutions — translating the way trading floors truly work into delivered technology, risk, and regulatory programs. An aerospace engineer who found his calling in the architecture of markets.
Michael trained as an aerospace engineer at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he learned to take impossibly complex systems and break them into parts that could be understood, tested, and improved. That same instinct — for structure beneath complexity — is what he brought to capital markets, and it has defined his career ever since.
Over fourteen years, he has worked inside many of the world's leading financial institutions — from global investment banks and Canada's largest banks to a major pension plan and a global consultancy — leading business analysis and transformation on the programs that quietly run the industry: front-to-back platform migrations, trade-lifecycle builds, risk and data-governance initiatives, and regulatory reporting across jurisdictions.
Capital markets technology programs don't fail on the technology. They fail on the business analysis — when the people writing the requirements don't truly understand the trade floor.
It was that pattern, seen again and again, that led Michael to found MD Market Insights — to raise the standard of capital markets business analysis, and to build the institution that supports a professional's entire journey: learning the discipline, landing the role, doing the work, and building what comes next.
Beyond the markets, Michael is a devout Catholic. He serves as a Third Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and as a legionary of the Legion of Mary — a life of charity, unity, and service that grounds everything the work stands for.
